NOUN Admission Requirement & Other Important Tips to gain admission into the University.

Hi, do you want to gain admission into National open university, well there are some requirement you need to meet and this is the main reason for this article.

NOUN Admission Requirement

Are you aspiring to go for your undergraduate programme or postgraduate programme or any type of diploma in the university. Well ensure you read to the end.

  • Proficiency Certificate Programmes: You must know how to write and read, this is an added advantage. Also, it is not compulsory you have an experience or qualification.
  • University Certificate Programmes: You must have a junior secondary school certificate, you must also have a minimum of two credits in O level and it must not be more than two sittings.
  • Applicants who has a minimum of 10 years experience and they are above 30 years and above will be given special merits.
  • Tc II Candidates must have a minimum of two merits not more than two sittings.
  • Having a I’dadiyah Certificate of islamiyah school is also another advantage.
  • Diploma Programmes: Having a 3 credits in Olevel at not more than two sittings is good.
  • Also having 3 merits in grade II teacher certificate is also good and required.
  • Having a Thanawiyyah Certificate in islamyah school is also needed.
  • Having a senior Islamic school certificates is also required.
  • Having A noun certificates or certificates of higher institution is also required.
  • Undergraduate Programmes: Having a minimum of 5 credits at not more than two sittings in Olevel is required.
  • Also having a Minimum of teacher grade II certificate at nothing less than 5 merits is required.
  • Applicants who wants to gain admission into school of law must have a credit pass in English language, literature in English and a pass in mathematics at a minimum and it must not be more than two sittings for Olevel results.
  • School of Arts and Social Sciences must have a minimum of 5 credits which must include English language.
  • For School of Management Sciences, they must have a credit in English and mathematics.
  • School of education must have a credit in mathematics for science education courses and a credits in English language for humanities education courses. 5 credits at a minimum.
  • School of Science and Technology, they must have a credit in both English language and Mathematics.
  • B.Sc. Environmental Science and Resource Management, they must have a credit pass at not more than two sittings which must include english ,mathematics and any of Geography, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Agricultural Science and Economics.
  • Postgraduate Programmes: Having a minimum of HND lower credit. School of law students must have a minimum of L.L.B degree. Candidates who wants to study for PGD HIV/AIDS Education and Management must have an HND degree In related field of study.
  • Masters Degree Programmes: Candidates must have a minimum of second class lower from any reputable organization. A good honours degree of arts, education, language, sciences.
  • Doctor of philosophy: Applicants must have a minimum of masters degree in relevant disciplines. Applicants going for PhD programmes will be invited for an interaction which will be inform of interview before they are admitted. 3 referees report and transcript must be acquainted to the dean of the university.
